Top 10 Secrets for a Healthy Brain
There are many ways to improve memory but my favorite are:
- exercise daily; at least 30 minutes will increase blood flow to the brain and release endorphins to elevate mood
- eat low-glycemic food to prevent inflammation and decrease risk–eg.fruits and vegetables, minimally processed and low sugar content
- meditate 5 minutes morning and night; quiets the mind and clears the fog in the brain
- learn something new every day; turn on the ‘plasticity’ switch to activate more areas in the brain
- social activities; requires communication (listening, speaking and thinking); make a luncheon or dinner date with friends or family
- laugh more often; rent a comedy or go out with friends who make you laugh; releases endorphins
- spend 15 minutes/ day in personal growth and development; read books by Ekhart Tolle, Wayne Dyer, Robin Sharma, Deepak Chopra, Doreen Virtue and many others
- breathe; being aware of your breath will help you to live in the ‘present’ moment; you will be happier, less worried and make fewer mistakes
- regular sleep pattern; 6.5 hrs-8 hrs at a regular time
- be around children under the age of 6, people over the age of 80 and pets. They will teach how simple, and fun life can be
